How are you? I hope this finds you well. The sun is shining here, my daughter was home this weekend, we had dinner as a family yesterday. The house was full of people and laughter; it was SO good for my soul! I also did a little planning for the week!
Ever since I was little I have loved paper, pens, crayons, notebooks, all things stationery. I totally geek out on finding a planner and just the right pen! To this day I love wandering down the stationary aisle. The idea of Sunday planning, laying out my calendar, bullet journal, sticky notes, and all the things make me happy.
AND I love a good list and the satisfaction of crossing things off it. Plus, I’m much better at tackling the week when I have a plan. Now, mind you this does not mean that things always go according to plan or some weeks I still don’t’ fly by the seat of my pants!
Here are a few things I do each weekend, typically on Sunday. (If you want to give this a try. You’ll need your calendar, composition notebook (bullet journal), pen, sticky notes and maybe your computer if you like). My glasses are not in the photo which is kind of funny because without them I can’t see a thing!
Meal plan. I find that when I plan at least 3-4 meals it makes life much less stressful. Deciding what to make is half the battle. I love to cook so being in the kitchen makes me happy unless it’s like 9 pm and someone wants to eat then I’m probably not all that happy, lol! I find that I get in a rut and end up making a lot of the same things so to avoid the dinner rut I jump on Pinterest (don’t fall down the black hole there stay focused!!) and search dinner ideas. I find a few that I like, check out the ingredients, time, etc. and then add it or move on to something else. Once I have my 3-4 (usually 4) I create the grocery list for those recipes. If they are new ones I might print them out. Often I come here and search dinners I’ve made before!
Errands. I create a list of the errands that need to be run. Post office, bank, school, gas, gifts that I need to get, etc. If you don’t go out every day you might want to have one or two days that you run your errands. Often I’ll take one day and run them all.
Phone calls. This is probably my least favorite thing to do mostly because you don’t get to talk to a human being anymore. Patience is not my strong suit. Last week I had a medical bill to pay and I was on hold more than 10 minutes to talk to a live person to pay it! Not my idea of fun, lol so I’m happy when this list is SHORT!
Work/Home. This includes planning for my classes, following up with my group, posts I want to do, etc. It’s great being your own boss but it’s also hard because it’s easy to get off track. This list also includes things I want to tackle here at home like cleaning a closet, organizing a space, etc.
Goals. This is something I started doing more recently. I write down my goals for the month and then each week. Did you know when you put things in writing they are more likely to accomplish them? Yepper!!
As I work my way through the week. I often add things that I think of or need to do. Then I cross things off as I accomplish them. If I don’t get to something I make sure to move it to the next week.
Do you have any tips for staying organized or not miss placing your glasses 100x a week I’d love to hear them!
See you soon!
