Our little garden has been a source of fresh herbs and vegetables for the last few weeks. Today I picked some beautiful tomatoes and fresh basil.
I made this easy summer bounty recipe, a quick pesto. I used walnuts in place of pine nuts. Put all your ingredients in the food processor and add olive oil for desired consistency.
I had a few slices of my homemade bread on hand so I made a quick snack with a layer of pesto, sliced tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. I put under the broiler for a few minutes to brown.
Until next time!

oh yum! this looks so good! even better with homegrown tomatoes, isn’t it? Love! My daughter loves a rustic bread with tomato, mozzarella, fresh basil and a drizzle of balsamic reduction. so good.
looks delish!! I love Giada’s recipe for pesto…did you ever try it? Your bread look awesome.
