Hi Friends! Today I’ve got a few ideas for styling your china cabinet or using a collection of items. I recently painted the cabinet. I wanted to lighten up the matching dining room set and I’m so happy I finally did it. It was fun to reinvent the piece a bit. If you missed that post you can see it here.
Since the cabinet was empty it gave me a chance to start fresh. I decided I would move all my ironstone to really make an impact instead of having it spread around the house. I was surprised at how much I actually have since I don’t think it’s ever all been together. Most of the pieces came from local thrift stores and estate sales. I look for Buffalo China since it was made here I love seeing the stamp on the bottom. My husband’s family used Buffalo China at their restaurant so it’s also a nod to his family history.
I started by stacking plates and platters and grouping pitchers. I wanted to vary sizes and heights. I added the pretty marble contact paper to the glass shelves which is a bit unexpected, but I really like it. It’s the same one I used on the DIY tray project here.
I left it all white for a few days but when I came across the little fern I thought it might be nice to add some green too.
This room is coming along. I still want to change out the rug for a lighter color one and maybe do something with the four chairs.
