DIY Paper Snowflakes.

As part of our Winter party decor I’m making paper snowflakes. The 3D variety. My daughter came home from school with one and I thought they were lovely. Just a few simple supplies, copy paper, scissors, tape and a stapler. Fold into a square and cut off excess paper.  Fold into a triangle. Fold again. With fold along bottom. Cut three lines about 3/4″ wide

Homemade Salsa

Happy New Year! We’ve been enjoying time together and eating lots! I whipped up a batch of the Avocado Salsa from Chef in Training.  Super delicious and healthy. I did change it a bit from her recipe, I used more avocados, tomatoes, tons of cilantro and more lime juice (I guess it’s the same then, just more right?) Well anyway, you get the idea! Cinnamon Honey Butter

I did some last minute baking today. One for us and two to share. I used Jim Lahey’s no-knead bread recipe (which is amazing if you haven’t tried it). I posted about it here. I also made the Roadhouse cinnamon honey butter to go with it. For the cinnamon honey butter I used two sticks of butter, 1/2 cup confectioner sugar, 1/2 cup honey &

Being an Example

My Dad was doing some painting at his church with another volunteer when they were approached by a unkempt man. He was asking for a priest, at the time there wasn’t one around. Instead of sending him on his way my Father took the man home to my parent’s house. The man was alone and homeless. My Father let him shower, gave him clean clothes,

Fall Porch.

As you can tell by my photo I didn’t quite make my goal of spending $20. Pumpkins (Farm stand) $4.50 Yellow stool (Estate sale) $4.00 Rug (Target) $13.42 Mum (Home Depot) $5.42 The rug was my inspiration for the colors I used. I moved pillows from my room (I changed the ones on my bed to my Winter pillows) and a throw along with one

Chicken Fried Rice

I made this for dinner tonight, it was really good. I made a few modifications to the original recipe I found here. I used fresh carrots, one diced small. A full cup of the frozen peas. I used a rotisserie chicken and minute rice. The only specialty item I purchased was sesame oil. I’m sure you could make it with Canola or OO but the

Italian Wedding Soup & No Knead Bread

I feel like I’ve blogged over the years about the no knead bread at least a dozen times but it’s that good! Our nights are getting cooler and we had a rainy day and nothing is more perfect on that kind of day than the house filled with the scent of soup simmering and bread in the oven. The wedding soup is easy and delicious

Rustic Fall Table

Hi! I’m so excited to share another installment of my outdoor tables! Fall is such a beautiful time of year here in Western New York. The days are cooler, the leaves change, a new school year starts. It’s my favorite season! I love taking tables outside and setting them for the seasons.  I used organic elements for my table like cat tails, boxwood, apples and jute. The boxwood is from
