As most of you know by now I’ve been training for a half marathon in May. Truth be told it’s hard, harder than I thought it would be. I figured by now it would be easier but even after four months of pretty disciplined training most days it still feels tough. At least once while I’m running I ask myself how I got myself into this but that passes and I keep going.
I’ve been doing the walk/run for much of the training but now that I’m outside I’ve been mostly just straight up running. My pace has been way ahead of my treadmill times so that is encouraging but I probably won’t be able to keep up that faster pace for the 13.1 miles. I’m up to 4 miles without any walking at about a 10-minute pace. I did 8 miles at just under a 13-minute pace so I’m getting there!

My daily routine on a running day:
Enjoy a glass of Metamucil Premium Blend.
Eat a healthy and nutritious breakfast like oatmeal with nuts & berries.
Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Warm up before running, run (listen to my favorite playlist!), cool down.
Rest to give my body time to recover.
