Sometimes you can’t leave well enough alone, right? I love pillows and I have a hard time resisting them. I love the way they can alter the whole feel of a room with little effort and often little money. If I find ones I love I buy them. If I can’t find what I want or they are too expensive I make them. Once you have the inserts making them is very economical. I use the simple envelope style. You can find the tutorial here. It’s the easiest way know and super quick. I made three new pillows in 30 minutes.
I am loving the blue and white right now. It’s super fresh and clean. It reminds me of the beach. I found the great little striped pillow at Home Goods. That was my splurge, a Ralph Lauren pillow for under $30. The two navy and white chevron I made for $6.00. I used one yard of fabric from Hobby Lobby.
I changed out the red lamp and added my Florida shells, a bunch of pretty purple tulips. I moved a few little accessories. I love it! It’s bright and happy. I think the living room will stay like this until the Fall. The other half the living room is not quite as pulled together. I need a rug and some new furniture pieces so hopefully I’ll finish the room in it’s entirety. For now, it looks pretty good.
