How I Made Over A Bathroom For $100

So obviously, this is a mini makeover. It’s amazing what a little paint, a good cleaning, organizing and a few new accessories will do for a space. Our main bath was in desperate need of some attention. Before I did anything I cleaned out all the drawers and under the vanity and got rid of a lot! Then I cleaned everything top to bottom. I lined the drawers of the vanity in my pretty faux marble contact paper that I got from dc-fix over the summer. It’s the same paper I used for my faux marble tray project. It was nice to get things in order. Since this bathroom has the only shower in the house (1890 farmhouse!) so it gets a lot of use and it’s easy to let it get cluttered with all our stuff.

Once the drawers were lined I organized the drawers. I picked up a few cute items from Target for storage. You can read this post to find out more about those items in case you missed it. You can see the wire baskets mounted to the wall above the radiator in the mirror. Those hold things we use pretty regularly like the blow dryer and brushes.

The vanity got a coat of limousine leather from the Marquee line of paint at Home Depot. I got it in the semi=gloss finish. I ordered a set of white shutters from Home Depot online for the window which the little guy and I  hung up together. I removed the previous window treatment and they give it a nice clean look. I opted for no hardware, keep it simple!

I added a new waste basket, a pretty hand towel (both from Target) and removed the shades from the sconces. I got one new rug and one got a good washing. I like how clean and modern it feels.

It feels like a new bathroom even though most of it hasn’t changed! Don’t judge me on the floor it’s pretty ugly but I picked it out 15 years ago, not exactly what I’d pick out now. For now, it looks nice and fresh and I spent very little. Paint is such an easy way to transform a space and it doesn’t just have to be on your walls! A BIG thank you to my sweet Dad who painted the cabinet for me!!  You might also like our powder room redo.

As always, thank you for coming by!! January is Love of Home’s best  month yet!! Onward and upward as they say! Linking to Moonlight and Mason Jars

You used $100 very well for a busy bathroom. Thank you for taking lots of photos. The practice of your sponsor to have ads at the bottom of every photo blocks out details in that area, and there is no x to remove them. But your last photo showed the modern trash can. Your bath is deceptively simple. All the special touches you included blend beautifully and tastefully.

Looks great Susan! I had painted the vanity in our main bathroom upstairs black some time ago and I love it. But now our bathroom needs some updating so I may go with the same thing. The black just does something to the room and it’s such a classic look. Good job!

Your bathroom makeover is very impressive. Could i please ask where you purchased the striped pitcher on your vanity? I have been looking for one for a long time. Thank you in advance.
