Handmade is in full swing here with this DIY Eye Mask!
Ever since I was little I have loved to make things. Heading down to the playground every day in the summer to do arts & crafts was pretty much the highlight of my days. I couldn’t wait to see what we were going to make! I lost touch with that in my twenties when I was busy going to school and working but as soon as I had my children it came back!
Today, I’m sharing this easy gift idea. My DIY eye masks are filled with rice so you can put them in the microwave for heat or the freezer if you want to use it cold.
I plan to give these as gifts with a little bottle of essential oil to drop on the mask for an added benefit.
You’ll need some soft fabric. I used a cute plaid flannel.
I found a template here. I only used half the template and placed it on the fold when I cut. You’ll need two of those.
Sew together around three sides leaving an opening to fill. It takes about 1 cup of rice depending on how full you want it.
Sew closed and trim threads!
I have some cute little empty sample bottles that came in my oils starter kit. I’ll add some of my favorite oils to those like lavender or peace and calming and give those as gifts!
If you want to attached elastic you could just cut a headband and attach to each side of the mask. I see this more of something you would relax with to soothe a headache, congestion or just unwind as opposed to something you would sleep in.
