The first of my Tips posts, Bacon 101. My favorite way to cook bacon is in the microwave. Put paper towels two thick on the bottom of a plate. Put bacon side by side in a single layer, you can fit about 5-6, cover with a paper towel. Cook one minute for each slice if you like your bacon crispy. So about 5-6 minutes. Comes out perfect and you don’t have to clean up all the splatters.
Bacon is much easier to pull apart if you leave out for a few minutes before trying to separate.
When I’m using bacon in a recipe I don’t add it until the end so that it stays crispy, I’m not a fan of mushy bacon.
Cook the whole pound and refrigerate what’s leftover. It’s so easy to warm up. I only used half for the pasta dish I made but cooked the whole pound. This way it’s ready for breakfast or sandwiches this weekend.
