Red, White and Blue Treats

I’ve been baking and cooking more than anything these last few weeks. Dinners, lunches, parties, birthdays, you name it! Red, white and blue seems to be the theme. I love to use it all summer long not just for the 4th of July. One of our favorite snacks is the ole’ rice krispie treat! They are probably the easiest treat to put together! We always

Bobby Flay’s Banana Bread

I had the TV on the other day while I was cleaning up the kitchen and Bobby Flay was making banana bread so I thought I’d give his recipe a try. I have to admit everything he cooks looks so good but I rarely make his recipes. The bread was really good! I only had two bananas so my batter was pretty thick but it

Easy Cheese Danish

Hello! Today I’m sharing this wonderful, easy cheese danish. The filling tastes just like cheesecake. These are perfect for breakfast, brunch or just a sweet snack. I love that they go together so quickly! This recipe is one of Ina Garten’s. I love her elegant, simple style! You could easily adapt this and mix in some jam or make a sweet drizzle for the top.

I visited Pinterest for inspiration (I do this often!) I found so many variations for sprinkle cookies. I chose this recipe because it’s

Every year I know I’m going to make at least one apple-raspberry pie. My husband loves it and it’s always his request for his birthday (which we recently celebrated!). This recipe is simple, are you ready? I don’t make my own pie crusts….Did you gasp? Lol, It’s just one of those things I don’t do very often. I have made them from scratch but it’s

Oatmeal Cookie Recipe Two Ways

Today I’ve got an oatmeal cookie recipe to share with you! I love homemade cookies and so do the kiddos. It’s a nice surprise after a day at school. I like the idea of oatmeal cookies because oats are good for you. I used dark chocolate chips and walnuts to up the nutritional value.  One third the batch got dried cranberries and white chocolate chips

Lemon Ricotta Pound Cake

We had some friends over and I made this lemon ricotta pound cake. I love ricotta so I thought I’d give it a whirl. It was really moist and delicious. The original recipe is Giada’s but I used the one at Alexandra cooks. I’m not a fan of orange liquor so I opted for the adapted recipe which calls for lemon zest & juice which

I have wanted to try a cast iron chocolate chip cookie for so long. Honestly, it was so easy I don’t know why I waited. There is nothing like the house filled with the smell of freshly baked cookie!
