I did not take a picture of the before sign that’s been hanging from our front tree for nearly 16 years, it was ugly! Metal with ugly black and gold slanted numbers. What took me so long to change it…I have no idea! I have a few pieces of this old barn wood and got to thinking how pretty it would look hung from the bracket on the tree. I purchased the white and black numbers from Lowe’s for under $1.50 each. This project was featured on Country Living! You can see it here.
I nailed the letters to the bottom right corner, no real reason other than I liked the way it looked! I used some small tacks to nail them in. I put the wood up the bracket and figured where I wanted the holes drilled using a 1/4″ drill bit. I found some eyelets I had that were the perfect size so I put those into the drilled holes for a more finished look. I was going to use metal rings but decided on a rustic twine. I threaded it through and tied it to the bracket. I made a double knot then a bow. I’m guessing this will last awhile and I can easily put in some new twine when needed!
This is such an improvement I should have taken a before!

Very cute and a great idea!
I live in an old farmhouse built in 1850. While we are renovating I am trying to keep as much of the farmhouse aesthetic as possible. This would be perfect on our driveway. Thanks for sharing!
I love this! People always have a hard time seeing our house number I am going to have to make one of these!! Thanks so much for sharing with us at Talented Tuesdays :)
I love this, Susan! It’s one of my features at Treasure Box Tuesday tonight- thank you for linking up with us! :)

What a cute way to display your house number. It’s simple enough that even I can make it! Nicely done Susan!
