Share a Pie| Love of Home

I love Fall. The cooler air, the changing of the seasons. To me it’s pumpkins apples. Piles of leaves, and orange and yellow trees. I love baking & nesting. I want to make our home warm and welcoming and I also want to share with others. I LOVE the “Pie it Forward” idea. Just like “pay it forward” but you bring a little joy to someone with a pie! Since we love to share things we make with our neighbors, friends, and family. I stopped at Walmart and picked up a couple Marie Callender’s® Dessert Pies and Reddi-Wip® to share. Today, I’m making the Lattice Apple Pie along with a homemade caramel sauce.

I’ll show you how I assemble this “gift” for giving and how easy it is to “pie it forward”. I create a pretty tray for giving the pie, along with plates, cute embellished forks, napkins, Reddi-wip and a beautiful homemade caramel sauce.

I found this amazing caramel sauce here. I made a jar of it to go along with the pie and Reddi-wip! I also created printable tags that you can use so you can do the same! Please note, the caramel sauce requires your full attention while making. It goes from nearly done to done very quickly!

Easy Homemade Caramel

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Use a larger pot because mixture will bubble up.
  2. Mix sugar, water and corn syrup.
  3. Boil until the mixture is golden about 8 minutes give or take, watch carefully.
  4. Immediately, turn to low and very carefully add cream, then vanilla and salt. Whisk until smooth.
  5. Add to a glass jar.
  6. Enjoy drizzled over pie!

While I’m a homemade pie kind of girl, I LOVE the idea of pie-it-forward!!!!

I know what you mean, but this way even if you don’t have time to make it yourself you can still share! So glad you came by!

Can I be your friend? This tray looks so great and I love Marie Callender’s pies so much that this would make a perfect gift! [client]
