I’ve been making a lot of popcorn lately.
It’s a great snack and it doesn’t take much effort.
This Maple-Bacon Popcorn will not disappoint!
I saw this on Food Network and I thought I’d give it a try!
It’s the perfect mix of salty and sweet.
12 slices bacon
3/4 cup popcorn kernels
1/2 stick unsalted butter
3 TBSP pure maple syrup
Cook the bacon until crisp. Drain on paper towels, then crumble. Pour the fat from the skillet into a spouted measuring cup. Add vegetable oil as needed to make 1/4 cup. Set the skillet aside.
Pour the bacon fat into a stockpot over medium heat. Add a few popcorn kernels; when they begin to sizzle, add the remaining kernels and shake to coat in the oil. Cover the pot and cook, shaking frequently until the popping has almost stopped. Remove the pot from the heat and cover.
Melt the butter and maple syrup over medium-low heat. Stir in the crumbled bacon and then pour over the popcorn; toss well to coat all of the kernels. Season with salt to taste and toss.
I plan on making this over the holidays when we have visitors or would make a cute gift in a cello bag or brown bag with ribbon and a tag!
Just a heads up tomorrow on my FB page I be sharing the YL specials!
They are running a special an hour for 12 hours starting at 10am EST (8am MT).
