Just some random thoughts I tried to connect together…
My lilac bush has been a bit of a mystery. It was a gift when our daughter was born.
Some years it has lots of flowers, some years not so much.
I got to thinking it’s kind of like life, isn’t it?
Some years are great, some not so much.
Funny how something will strike us like that isn’t it?
Each time I get settled into a season in our lives, something changes and I need to adjust yet again.
It’s not in a bad way, just a reminder the time and life keep marching on.
As my kids get older this is true.
One year they are in Kindergarten, then its braces, one year it’s driving, college visits and just keeps going.
Everyone always said it goes fast but I guess you don’t realize just how quickly until it’s your life.
I remember when the kids were little and I was tired the days seemed endless at times.
Now they seem to fly by one after the other.
I’ve learned to take in the moments, each as they come.
The laughter, the tears, the joy, the love, the victories, and failures.
As imperfect as life can be it is such a beautiful gift.
Having a grateful heart, embracing each day and smelling the lilacs when they bloom makes life a little sweeter.
