I’m super excited to share my DIY Wood Tray with you! My do it yourself skills are pretty basic so I tend to keep construction simple when I make something (and I call my dad!).
Plywood for base
Pallet wood for sides
Stain or paint
I’ll share my dimension so you can see what I did. If you want to change them for your project you can adjust accordingly.
First we cut the plywood 23″ long and 16 wide. We wanted the sides to be on top of the plywood and we made the long sides fit inside the short sides.
We nailed them from the bottom first and then the ends together. This took us about 30 minutes and then I stained it the same color as the Blanket Ladder and added the antique handles I bought years ago!
My cost today was zero. Plywood was left over, pallet was free and well the handles have been collecting dust (and I still have four left!).
Since the plywood is rough I added brown felt to the bottom so it won’t damage the new ottoman (tips for styling an ottoman coming soon!). It’s imperfect and rustic but I”m really happy with how it turned out! Thanks, daddy!
