Get Organized, Weeks Two & Three

I tackled the “command center”, junk drawer #1 (there’s more) and the boys’ dressers. The junk drawer in the kitchen is one of the hardest things to keep tidy. People seem to just throw things in there. I found a set of six interlocking boxes at Target to add to the baskets I had already. Now if you’re looking for something you have a better chance of finding it! We have a spot for keys, pens, paper, scissors, the wall pockets have a folder for each child, school items and household. I keep one small tray near the phone to put incoming mail, coupons that need to be cut, etc. It’s left there until it’s either opened and addressed or until it’s filed away. This pile may get the best of me every now and then! I keep the box small it forces me to clean it out!

I also went through both of the boys dressers and their closet. I made piles, donate, hand down or possible consignment. The boys share a room that is on the small side so one of their dressers is in the closet. I use baskets on top of the dresser for certain items. For now this works great. As they get older we’ll see how it goes!
