I love this fun project, a DIY heart sparkle pillow. Super cute in any girls room or as a sweet accent in your home.
Every now and then when I need a little inspiration I’ll jump in the car and wander around the craft store. Joann’s had some cute pillows but at $30 I knew I could make my own for next to nothing. Since I’m kind of a pillow collector I have lots of inserts and I still have some of the flour sack towels* from Target. I used my Cricut to cut the silver sparkle iron-on*. You don’t need anything special though you can find the iron-on at most craft stores and just cut it with scissors! I used the same envelope pillow cover style since it’s the easiest to make. If you don’t have a sewing machine, not a problem. You can use fabric glue* or fusible web tape*. This way you’ll just need an iron.
Once you make your pillow cover (I used one flour sack towel). Place the heart iron-on with the protective layer up, cover with a piece of fabric and iron according to directions. No steam, about 30 seconds at a time and then flip over and do the same from the back. Let cool and then peel of protective layer. That’s it. This project took my less than 30 minutes. I added it to my daughter’s bed. I hope she likes it!
