This sweet and simple banner hangs on our mantle every February! You can make this with just a few supplies. Don’t sew? No problem, you can easily use fabric glue! I started with painter’s drop cloth for my background. It’s a nice neutral and inexpensive. I always keep one or two around for various projects. You can find it at any home improvement or paint store.
Decide how many flags you want and along your banner. I cut my bases 4″ x 11″ and folded them in half over the seam binding. You can use twine, ribbon or anything you want to hang the flags from. I stitched across the top of each of the flags but I’m still able to move them along the binding so I can put them where I want. I created a heart template by drawing a half of heart on a folded piece of paper (this way both sides are the same!). Cut out and trace the hearts on various fabrics. Cut out a heart for each of the flags and sew on or use fabric glue. You could always use felt for the hearts, or old sweaters or shirts!
See wasn’t that easy?
