Welcome. 2017! I hope y’all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year with loved ones!
So what is on your resolution list? Get organized, rest more, lose weight?I know organizing is a big part of the New Year for many of us but isn’t health and wellness even more important? I have a few things on my list but right at the top is continuing my journey to eliminate the toxins in our home and keep educating the people that I love to do the same. I want good health and wellness for everyone so I’m sharing How To Detox Your Home and challenging you to join me! I’ll share three simple steps to eliminate toxins that you can take right now.
Many of you know a little about my essential oil journey. In an effort to better my mood and clean up our home (make it as toxin free as possible) I’ve made a lot of changes since last summer. I continue to change out things as I learn more about the things around us that aren’t good for us! Sometimes I feel bad that I didn’t have this information when my children were little. I could have been using greener alternatives but I know now and I can’t unknow what I’ve learned.
When people think about making these kinds of changes it can be overwhelming because you have no idea where to start. If you take one thing at a time and make it a habit for your home and then add something else it really doesn’t take that long. I am choosing to use non-toxic alternatives to replace the cleaners, soaps, room sprays, candles, dryer sheets, toothpaste, etc. I didn’t do this all at once but in six months I’ve eliminated so many toxic things and it hasn’t been difficult or expensive.
Enter Young Living. One– The starter kit was one of the best investments I’ve made for our home and health. Think about all the things we spend our money on. Disposable things, toys, junk, bad food, multiples of things. The kit has so much value and if you add a couple other items (Two– Thieves cleaner and Three-Thieves toothpaste) you can make a huge difference for under $200.
How many cleaners are under your kitchen sink? I bet there are quite a few. I had many different cleaners but since switching to Thieves cleaner I haven’t purchased anything else! I use it on counters, sinks, mirrors, windows, laundry stains, toilets, shower, tub, literally everything. It works great, smells wonderful and you got it, it’s non-toxic! I have a whole post coming soon on Thieves cleaner. It comes as a concentrate and you make it as you need it.
The diffuser is running pretty much from the time we get up until we go to bed and then when we go to bed to help us sleep. It not only makes the house smell wonderful and purify the air but it has replaced our scented candles, room sprays, the little room fresheners which are filled with ingredients we can’t pronounce and aren’t good for us. You can make your own soap, room spray, cologne, soap and SO many things from your starter kit oils not to mention the health benefits (I’ll save that for another post).
I will be posting regularly on how to use your oils, easy DIY’s for the oils and educational information about them! I love learning and the more I learn the more I’m certain I’m headed in the right direction with Young Living.
Here is a breakdown of the value of your new starter kit!
