Welcome to our home! The side entrance to our farmhouse is the hub of our home, it’s really the only door we use and guests do as well. With that said I didn’t want to neglect the front porch completely so I made a swag from a pair of vintage skates I was given as a hostess gift! This is so easy to do! I laid the greens together, once I was happy I tied them together with twine. I tied the skates on with plaid ribbon. I added a piece of twine with a pinecone at each end and a burlap bow. That’s it! It took me all of about 15 minutes. I added it to the front porch next to the door.
The modest porch leads into our cozy mudroom with cubbies for the kids, a bench and closets. You can see more on our entry here.
The railings got a homemade garland from fresh greens, pinecones and white lights. The pinecones are wired together with florist wire and then tied to the greens. I added one of my mini trees in a galvanized bucket and a vintage wire basket filled with wood in the corner or the porch.
